After writing my last post I had 30 mins free before my incubations ended and so I went up to the bridge with my binoculars to see if I could happen upon a whale.
We were cruising along in flat open water and you could see for miles in all directions. Along with what would amount to thousands of sooty shearwater birds sitting in groups on the flat water I saw the occasional fin and blow of some whales off in the distance. I haven’t seen them next to the ship like some others have but it was nice in the quiet morning to see some whales with their fins sliding in and out of the water. No photos tho, I needed my binoculars to see them properly. The fog has settled back on us again now so its time for bed. We’ve only really seen the sun maybe 3 days of our trip so far.
